Our Story
Gujarati Association of Queensland (GAQ) is a non-profit organisation established in 1993 as an incorporated body to fulfill, maintain and enhance our Cultural Heritage. It provides education on the values and rich heritage of Gujarat, the part of India to where we trace our roots.
Currently there are more than 1000 Gujarati families in Queensland whom GAQ aims to serve. Our members are from India, Africa, United Kingdom, Fiji and New Zealand to name a few.
Our goal is multifaceted; at one end of the spectrum there is a plan to host family-oriented events such as Eastern Evening, picnics, camps, etc. At the other end we also host events such as Navratri, Sharad Purnima, Diwali and other religious activities.
GAQ encourages each and everyone to support all events and at the same time appeal to everyone who is not a current member to do so in earnest.
